ASCIF's Awareness Program for Secondary School Students

The aim of this program is to educate 20,000 secondary (college) school students between the age bracket of (12-22 years) across Nigerian states from year 2026-2028 about the concept of Smart Cities, Climate Change and its best practices for saving our planet, highlighting their impact, technologies, and career opportunities while inspiring young learners to explore innovations in technology.

The goal is to inspire students to engage with technology and innovation while empowering them with knowledge for the future and also enhance students' understanding of how smart cities improve quality of life.

Who we are?

African Smart Cities Innovation Foundation (ASCIF) Is An NGO in Consultative Status With The United Nations Economic And Social Council (ECOSOC). ASCIF Could Also Be Labeled As An Implementing Organization Which Designs And Implements Various Developmental Projects With The Financial And Technical Support Of International Donor Agencies And The Government. Formulated To Activate Africa For The Responsibility Of Nation Building Through Innovation, Empowerment And National Identity.
African Smart Cities Innovation Foundation (ASCIF) Is An NGO With An Observer Status With United Nations Framework Convention On Climate Change (UNFCCC). ASCIF Strongly Believes In The True And Active Participation Of All Key Stakeholders, Particularly The Local Communities Or Program Beneficiaries. Fair Efforts Are Taken To Ensure That Stakeholders Participate And Contribute At All The Stages Of The Interventions.

Our Objectives

1. Increase awareness of smart city concepts among students by organising training programs.
2. Enhance student understanding of how smart cities improve quality of life.
3. Enhance interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) development and providing guidance.
4. To encourage the prevalence of good implementation practices/processes and exchange of experiences for climate action.
5. Organizing awareness campaigns on climate change, its impacts and preventive measures either in books, social media, bulletins and journal publications.
6. Carrying out joint service projects with public institutions, universities and NGO's working in the field of nation building.
7. Providing technical support to students in technology development and information on the mission and vision of SDG (Sustainable Development Goals).
8. Cooperating and conducting joint projects with international institutions and their co-institutions in the country.

African Smart Cities Innovation Foundation’s Mission Is To Work For The Development & Empowerment Of Socio-Economical Development Of African Cities Through Innovation And Economic Development.

We Foresee a Society Where We Introduce Youths To The Concepts & Dimensions Of Smart Cities, Focusing On Their Practical Benefits, The Role Of Technologies like AI, IOT, Data Science, Renewable Energy, Transportation & Future Career Opportunities In These Fields.

Our Advocacy Is To Ensure Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education & Promote Lifelong Learning Opportunities For All.
